Terms & Conditions

Elwood Community Market, Elwood Primary School

(THESE SUPERCEDE ALL OTHER PUBLISHED TERMS & CONDITIONS) 

 

Bookings and Cancellations

Bookings and payments for Stalls are made online and the primary method of communication is email.

Stall allocations are at the discretion of market management.

No refunds are issued for cancellations, no-shows, bad weather or in the instance that you are not happy with your stall site.  No credits are provided for future markets, and stalls must not be sold on.

Cancellations via email to be sent no later than the Monday before the market.  Phone messages are not accepted.

Booking provides the space for your stall only. Elwood Market does not hire market equipment or furniture.

 

COVID Safety

Stallholders must comply with all COVID safe rules set by the market.  These will be provided in a separate document to stallholders as they must align with the ever changing State Government and Department of Education rules.

 

Marquees/Shelters

For the safety of everyone at the market – all marquees/shelters, tables, trestles, clothing racks are the responsibility of stallholders and must be secured appropriately at all times. Please note the grounds are all paved or artificial turf you must secure your shelters with weights,  NO TENT PEGS OR STAKES allowed.

 

You will be asked to remove your equipment if it is not appropriately secured.

Only items declared when booking online may be sold on market day.  

 

Rules and Responsibilities

Food vendors are welcome but no BBQ,  filled bread rolls/sandwiches, sushi, cakes, biscuits, juice or coffee.  Please email stallselwoodmarket@gmail.com if unsure.  

 

Stallholders are responsible for complying with all laws, rules and regulations relating to the goods offered for sale.  Banned or dangerous substances or counterfeit or copied goods must NOT be sold.

 

Elwood Market reserves the right to remove any items being sold that are deemed inappropriate or dangerous. 

 

Stallholders are expected to be responsible, fair and respectful to all patrons of all ages at the market and vice versa.

 

Stallholders must take away all unsold items, leftovers and rubbish. 

 

WE ARE AN ALL WEATHER MARKET. Most sites at the market are open air. Elwood Market is not responsible for adverse weather conditions or any loss, damage or injury whatsoever resulting from adverse weather conditions.  In the case of very extreme and adverse weather conditions resulting in the cancellation of a market, stall holders will be notified via SMS / email and a message will be posted on Facebook.

No dogs are allowed in the market unless on a leash.

Please note the market is held on School grounds and so not all sites are perfectly flat.  Most sites are on bitumen and some on artificial turf.

 

Elwood market provides an ATM onsite in the senior School.

 

ARRIVAL:

 

Gates open: 6.45am

Entry is via gate 2 (for Senior School and Quad) and Gate 3 (for Junior School)

GATES CLOSE 8am

All cars must be parked or offsite by 8am.

In the interests of safety cars must not be moved onsite after 8am.

IF YOU HAVE NOT ARRIVED BEFORE 8:00AM YOUR STALL MAY BE REALLOCATED.

 

Enter via Poets Grove from Tennyson Street and join the queue for check-in. Please note this is a one way street and traffic direction is reversed on Market Days  (special permission has been granted from the City Of Port Phillip to change the direction of traffic on Poets Grove).

 

It is important that we respect our neighbours – please do not block driveways, keep noise to a minimum and be mindful of the early hour for residents, for example please keep conversation contained within a vehicle rather than in the street. 

 

GATES

Please note due to landscaping traffic access to each market area is via a different gate, please check your booking to see which area you are in and receive further instructions at the check-in point.

 

GATE 2:

Senior School Stalls.

Quad Stalls 

 

GATE 3: 

Hall Stalls H1-H10; 

Junior School stalls.

 

One car per stall is permitted to unload at a time.

All stallholders must park off-site unless they have been allocated a car boot stall . Parking is available in the surrounding streets on both Scott Street, Mitford Street and Glen Huntly Road.

 

PACK DOWN / DEPARTURE:

THE MARKET OFFICIALLY ENDS AT 1PM

OFF-SITE CARS: CARS PARKED OFF SITE WILL BE ALLOWED TO COME IN (VIA GATE 3) AT 1.15PM 

ON-SITE CARS: NO ON-SITE CARS TO MOVE BEFORE 1.30PM SHARP AT WHICH TIME THE GATES WILL BE OPENING FOR EXITING CARS.

 

Drivers are responsible for the safety of everyone and everything around them, please wait for surrounding stalls to pack-up before attempting to exit.  When driving on School grounds please be mindful of other stallholders, children, and market goers who may still be at the market. Please be patient when driving around the market area to make for a great day for everyone.

 

Non-compliance with these instructions may result in the stallholder being removed from the queue and market.
